Help Rehabilitate Golgolo Elementary School: A Campaign for Hope and Education in Ethiopia
In the heart of northern Ethiopia’s Tigray region, just outside Mai Kinetal town, stands Golgolo Elementary School—a place that once nurtured generations of young minds, shaping future doctors, professionals, and community leaders. But today, it lies in ruins, a victim of the devastating war on Tigray.
The war has left Golgolo Elementary School in shambles. Once a thriving institution, the school was tragically burned, looted, and vandalized. Its once-bustling classrooms now stand empty, with children sitting on rocks in the absence of desks and chairs. Roofs are missing, textbooks have been destroyed, and the teachers—many of whom lost colleagues and students to the conflict—are left with no supplies to continue their critical work.
Despite the challenges, Golgolo Elementary School has reopened its gates, offering a glimpse of hope to the remaining students. But these children need more than just an open door—they need a place where they can learn, dream, and rebuild their futures.
This is where you come in. The cost to rehabilitate the school and provide essential resources is estimated at 16,800,000 Ethiopian Birr. By contributing to this campaign, you will help:
- Rebuild classrooms and install roofs to shield students from the elements.
- Replace desks, chairs, and textbooks that were destroyed.
- Provide school supplies to teachers and students so they can focus on learning.
