Arlington, VA – The House of representatives has passed the American Dream and Promise Act of 2019 (H.R. 6), which, as stated in the bill, “prohibits removal proceedings against certain aliens and provides such aliens with a path toward permanent resident status.” Dr. Tsehaye Teferra, President and CEO of the Ethiopian Community Development Council, Inc., expressed his gratitude for the Members of Congress who continue to put of all needs of all Americans first.
“This Act is a sign of relief for TPS and DED holders as well as Dreamers who have nowhere else to call home expect for the United States. We urge the Senate to continue the momentum and support this legislation to ensure that we remain the land of opportunity for all who seek to contribute to their communities and this great country.”
