ECDC is pleased to announce a call for proposals for its upcoming conference, taking place on June 25-26, 2020. ECDC’s conference will respond to the dramatic changes to the U.S. refugee resettlement program and address the ongoing need to find local, national, and global solutions to creating welcoming communities for refugees and immigrants.

ECDC is seeking submissions that fall into one of the following focus areas. Proposals outside of these areas may also be submitted and will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

  1. Public education & advocacy: designing and implementing inclusive approaches to building public support for creating welcoming and inclusive communities for refugees.
  2. Leadership & voice:  the role and leadership of diaspora communities in migration and refugee issues.
  3. Future ready curricula: incorporating culture, heritage, cross-cultural communication and dialog into national education curriculum of host countries and resettlement integration programs.
  4. Politics and policies of resettlement: implications of political and policy changes on the U.S. refugee admissions program
