ECDC serves as a pan-African voice that draws attention to significant issues and concerns for African refugees and immigrants. Through our outreach efforts, which include an electronic newsletter and daily news highlights, we provide ongoing updates on African refugee-related matters. We also engage in advocacy efforts by conducting Congressional advocacy. During our annual national conference, we organize visits to Capitol Hill where community leaders and members present urgent issues to government officials. ECDC seeks to raise awareness and influence change through dialogue with policy-makers and through mobilizing African community-based organizations. ECDCís advocacy efforts build on our close partnership with grassroots organizations and our founding as a community-based organization.
